FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What causes my teeth to stain?
A. There are a whole range of foods/drinks that can cause staining on your teeth over an extended period. Common causes include wine, tea, coffee and soft drinks (particularly cola drinks). Smoking is another cause of stained teeth.
How quickly will I notice whiter teeth?
A. With our in-chair whitening, you’ll see beautiful whiter teeth by the end of your appointment. If you prefer take home whitening and you keep to the daily treatment plan, your teeth will be noticeably whiter in a few weeks.
What is the teeth whitening process?
A. For the in-chair whitening, we will book you an appointment and the teeth whitening will be done at your first visit.
For take home whitening, at your first appointment, we will take an impression of your teeth to create your own personalised mould. After a few days, you can collect your mould and begin the whitening process.
Every day, simply apply the whitening gel (a bit like toothpaste) to the mould and put the mould in place for around 20 minutes. Complete this process each day for 14 days and you are done. Easy.
What are the risks associated with whitening teeth?
A. With modern technology, teeth whitening from a dentist is a very safe process.
The most common issue associated with teeth whitening is a temporary increase in tooth sensitivity. Our products have a built-in desensitiser which effectively overcomes this issue for most patients.
What results can I expect?
A. Results do vary from patient to patient but typically, you can expect visibly whiter teeth by up to 8 shades.
